Our products include...

1. TRADAS
The comprehensive traffic data analysis software product is now in its fourth version. TRADAS offers comprehensive traffic data collection, quality control (QC), summarization, reporting, and database services, including a Public Database that provides simplified traffic data to users.

2. TRADAS Operations
Chaparral will provide customers who buy TRADAS with the services needed to operate the system. These include daily data evaluation, monthly and annual summarization, routine reporting, and database maintenance services. On a case-by-case basis, Chaparral will consider operating custom developed software systems or other traffic data analysis software products.

3. Remote Database Administration for TRADAS Oracle Servers
This service is designed for clients who do not have in-house Oracle technical staff to perform necessary database maintenance. Chaparral can provide this service through remote access, thus relieving the client of the need for additional staffing.

4. Traffic Data Processing Services
Chaparral can provide full traffic data polling, QC, summarization, reporting, and database services to clients who have not purchased TRADAS or other traffic processing capabilities. This product is ideally suited for clients who do not wish to capitalize large software purchases or development efforts, or who need an interim service while implementing long-range plans. This service provides all of the analysis capabilities available to clients who purchase TRADAS, but without the need to purchase the TRADAS software.

5. Analytical Services for Traffic Data Programs
Chaparral can provide research and analysis services to assist agencies in developing high-quality traffic information and traffic data collection programs. Examples include analyzing permanent automatic traffic recorder (ATR) data for factor grouping purposes, developing traffic data collection sampling plans, and determining the precision of system-wide estimates.

6. Analytical Services for Weigh-in-Motion (WIM)
Analytical Services make Chaparral's extensive experience in WIM data available to clients. These services include WIM QC analysis, data summarization, reporting, database management, and analytical studies such as seasonal analyses of vehicular loading and gross tonnage.

7. Transportation Data Integration/ Archival Services
The general TRADAS architecture to integrate and archive data from Traffic Management Centers, local operations functions, state and local planning functions, and private data sources.

In addition to QC, summarization, and reporting, the service produces a database of traffic / transportation data for distribution.

All Chaparral software and service products have flexible pricing structures. In general, fixed price and transaction-based pricing are available for all of these services.
Research Services
Chaparral also specializes in research services. The company has performed extensive research for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Chaparral was involved in the revision of the FHWA's TMG (Traffic Monitoring Guide). Research group members prepared the paper, "Use of Gross Vehicle Length (GVL) Data for Classification Purposes," as part of the project that updated the TMG. This report documents the findings of a study to evaluate the use of permanent length classifiers (in cases where they are available) in place of 13-bin axle-based classifiers.
