Naming conventions are how a site is identified in the TRADAS system. If a TRADAS user wants to have a site identified on the standard TRADAS reports, data exports, or interface items in a particular way, the TRADAS user must have a defined naming convention configured in the system. On standard TRADAS report headings, only name convention site information is used. For example, a TRADAS user may have a global route and mile-point naming convention that all sites have, but the person in charge of the continuous count automatic traffic recorders (ATRs) has a separate ATR number that is preferred on the reports. In this case, the TRADAS user must have at least two naming conventions defined for their sites: Route/Mile-point and ATR Number.
Here are a few examples of TRADAS naming conventions that can be used in the system:
- ATR Number
- ATR Name
- Station ID
- Segment Code/Mile Point
