Site Grouping Features

TRADAS provides the user with an option to create site groups. Sites can be grouped into “site groups” for various processing purposes such as reporting, data selection, and quality control. A site group contains 2 or more sites providing TRADAS users with customized reporting options by Site Group. The TRADAS user has the ability to insert a new site group, delete a site group, edit a site group and generate a pdf listing of all the sites that fall within a site group. For more details on these functions see the text below.

Site Group Information - Site Group Creation Features

Creating site groups within the TRADAS system is easy. To create a new site group, the TRADAS user would click on the Insert button and the system would walk the user through the steps for selecting sites that fall within the site group. The TRADAS user would have the ability to create a name for the site group, define a purpose for the site group, and select multiple traffic station sites that fall within that site group.

Defining the Purpose of the Site Group

An example of a site group would be the "ATR" Site Group. In this site group, the purpose is to group all the continuous count stations or automatic traffic recorders (ATR's) together. As seen in the "View Site Group" dialog box, on the left is a listing of all the different site groups that have been created by the agency. Since the ATR Site Group is highlighted in the dialog box the TRADAS system automatically displays the sites that fall within that ATR site group such as traffic station site number 010003 and traffic station site number 010009 on the right side of the dialog box.

Smart Site Group Creation

Within the TRADAS product, there is a smart group site creation feature that allows TRADAS users to create site groups by querying the database and filtering sites that fall within a defined criterion. For example, the smart site group might include all sites that are federally designated as a certain functionally classified type of roadway such as major arterial, rural minor, collector, local, etc. In the example where the site group is named "CC cl 11 > 3.5%" highlighted in the dialog box, the site group was created using a sophisticated database filter to create the smart site group. In this example, all functionally classified sites that fall within the federal designation of Interstate Urban which is known as FC = 11 are first selected. Within all the FC 11 sites, the site group is further filtered by any sites that have greater than 3.5% of traffic volumes that fall within the FC 11 designation. The example shows 6 sites that fall within the smart group.

Creating a Site Group Report

The TRADAS system provides the user with the ability to create a site group report that contains the details about the site group. To run this report, the user simply clicks on the "Generate PDF" button and a pdf Site Group Report is generated. This report contains the name of the site group as well as all the sites that are a part of that specific site group.
